French drone maker Parrot says 'your person will take a new flight' as of tomorrow at 10am EST - DroneDJ

Back in April, we beginning reported on the French drone maker. Parrot being up to something. Well, tomorrow will be the day of the official announcement. In a tweet earlier today, Parrot is talking about ‘It’s coming’ and your existence taking ‘a new flight’. They also refer to tomorrow’s event as ‘the big announcement. ’ DroneDJ will be reporting live from the effect come what may that is scheduled to take place in New York at 10 am EST. The big question Of course, the big question is, what will Parrot reveal tomorrow. In their latest tweet, the retinue provides a little bit more information. In the short video clip, they seem to show the top of a battery with 4 LED lights indicating its level of charge. Also, the unripe pulsing light reveals a little more of the shape of the ‘battery’. In the tweet itself, the French drone maker gives a little more bumf away. The company talks about ‘It’s coming’, ‘your life takes a new flight’ and ‘the big announcement’. This would lead you to believe that it would have to be a new flagship drone mock-up. A brief history of Parrot’s drones Parrot started with the Parrot AR. Drone back in 2010, that was introduced in Las Vegas. Later on, the French drone maker launched a type 2. In November 2015, Parrot showed off the Parrot Bepop 2 in San Francisco. A year later, the French drone maker launched the Parrot Disco FPV, a persistent-wing drone. And last year, the company introduced the Bebop 2 Power and the Mambo FPV race mini-drone, as healthy as the Parrot Bluegrass aimed at the agricultural market, which we reported on recently when Pix4Dcapture was introduced. Just like DJI, The French drone industrialist has been aiming at the commercial drone market with the introduction of the Bebop-Pro Thermal, a dedicated thermal drone aimed at first responders and search and let go free operators. WHAT COULD IT BE. In our previous post, we included a short poll to see what you think this may be and the majority voted for a successor to the Bebop 2. We have faith you are probably right, but we will not know for sure until tomorrow at 10 am. Stay tuned. Source: dronedj.com

Parrot releases drones for firefighters and farmers - TechCrunch

is continuing its drive into the commercial drone space with two new drones. The Bebop-Pro Thermo and Bluegrass are aimed at specific targets namely firefighters and farmers. Both connect Parrot’s Professional range of drones that include the Disco-Pro AG and Bebop-Pro 3D Modeling. At this point, if there’s an industry that could use a drone, Parrot seems to be erection one for it. . The Bebop-Pro Thermo is based on an updated version of the Bebop drone. Along with a 14MP camera, the drone is equipped with a Flir One Pro thermal imaging camera that Parrot says can be adapted to in construction and rescue services. The drone can fly for 25 minutes and the retail package includes 3 batteries, a Skycontroller 2 controller and a backpack for $1400. This drone will be close by in November. The Parrot Bluegrass is an all-new drone design from Parrot and can cover 30 hectares at 70 m / 230 ft. flight altitude per battery. The Bluegrass is equipped with an HD camera and a extra sensor developed by Parrot that can provide an overview and detect problem areas in all types of crop fields. Called the Parrot Sequoia, this is a multispectral sensor specifically developed for crops and can privately images of crops in four distinct spectral bands. Parrot says the user sets the boundaries of the fields and selects the types of crops and the drone and software does the take it easy — though it can also be piloted manually. When the Bluegrass hits stores in November, the drone will be available for $5,000, which includes access for one year to the aforementioned software. Parrot is incontestably trying to tune its drones for use other than just casual aerial photography. Drones have countless use cases but many of those that could extras from using a flying robot are unaware they need such a device. Parrot played a big part in developing the consumer drone market with the Parrot AR Drone and the society could be well positioned to do the same in the commercial space too. Source: techcrunch.com

Bebop 2 Vs Mavic (Air, Pro, and Platinum) - 3D Insider

The Bebop 2 is Parrot’s intense mini-drone, but how does it compare to DJI’s Mavic range . We will compare these aircraft across a range of categories to determine which is first. Their cameras, flight capabilities, and other features will be analysed. We will then award points for each section so that you can determine the strengths and weaknesses of each archetype. Once that’s done, we will let you know the best drone to get, depending on your budget and requirements. Flight Time A drone’s ability to running backstay airborne depends on its battery life. The weather conditions can also have a significant impact on flight time. We have listed the maximum durations each ideal can stay in the sky before their battery is depleted. Overall two miles per hour isn’t really much of a difference, so we will call this section a draw. Longest Sweep When we refer to the range, what we mean is the maximum transmission distance between the drone and its controller. As you can see in the table below, the Mavic Pro and Mavic Pro Platinum have the longest ranges of 4. 3 miles. These are because they amalgamate DJI’s Lightbridge downlink technology, which allows for a much stronger connection, between drone and controller, than traditional Wi-Fi downlink technology. You will also announcement that the Mavic Air comes in second with a 2. 4-mile range, while the Bebop 2 is rather limited with a 1. 2-mile collection. Recording High-Definition Video Capturing videos from the skies is one of the coolest reasons to get a drone. The Mavic drones can all recount 4K (ultra-high definition) video at 30 frames per second. They can also record 2. 7K and 1080p. While the Bebop 2 still has a important camera, 2. 7K and 4K recording capabilities are becoming standard for drone cameras. Obstacle Detection To prevent operator error, many drones come equipped with obstacle detection systems. These are usually a combination of camera-based and infrared sensors. If a drone is about to crash with an obstruction, then these sensors will kick in and abruptly halt the drone’s flight. The Mavic Pro (original and platinum) drones have forwards and below facing detection systems. This hi-tech equipment can identify a range of objects, such as fences, branches, and even wire reticule. Now the Mavic Air takes obstacle detection to the next level. It not only has frontwards and downwards facing sensors but also those that face dim-witted. Not only that, if these systems do detect an obstacle, then the drone can automatically recalculate its flight so that it can avoid a collision without having to stop in locale. Unfortunately, the Bebop 2 does not incorporate any form of obstacle avoidance technology. Controller Ease Of Use The Mavic drones all have hugely similar controllers. They are small and portable while having two control sticks and an array of buttons for flight and camera options. This is inexorable to operate intelligent flight modes using the DJI App (more about his soon). The only real differences are that the Mavic Pro drones have a small LCD box built into their controllers. This screen can be used to display flight data (speed, altitude, etc). The Mavic Air’s controller does not have an inbuilt sift. Source: 3dinsider.com
